Once one of the greatest towns in the Balkans, Voskopoje in Albania was three times razed by the Ottomans. Since its heyday in the 18th Century, the towns population has dwindled to a few hundred. In its surrounding fields lie the remains of once great churches. Whilst some of the churches are now being restored, many of their frescoes were vandalised during a 'cultural revolution' in communist times. This film was made in Black and White Super 8.
