Pula – The World Award for Branding
At the prestigious international competition Rebrand 2010. Global Awards, the branding of the city of Pula for The Tourist Board of Pula has been allocated as one of the world's best transformations of an existing brand.
The work of the creative agency Parabureaua was rated with high marks and set apart as a highly successfully accomplished rebranding process, and Pula was placed side by side with large and important global brands such as Nike, Walmart, McAfeeja, Reuters, Deutsche Post. Pula has also become the first Croatian city that has received a prestigious international award for branding.
The branding of Pula began with the aim of a tourist, cultural and general social promotion and development of the city. The designers of Parabureaua brought out the new visual communication of Pula by using its heraldic treasures: the city's coat of arms with a green shield and a yellow cross. The recognized geometrizam of the cross was "translated" by designers into the form of a character "plus", in which they installed a new emotional dimension compared to the visual context.
Rebrand is the first and largest organization that tracks and rewards the process of transforming brands and one of the main programs is an annual award of international recognition of the most successfully implemented branding projects, which is usually covered by numerous media such as The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, BusinessWeek and Yahoo! Finance. The award was established in 2005. and each year attracts competitors from all over the world. The best solutions are evaluated by a jury composed of distinguished experts from the world's largest branding agencies.
