International Festival Chopin Open, Warsaw
Organized for the first time in Poland, the international festival Chopin Open - La Folle Journée will take place at the Great Theatre - National Opera, the National Theatre and in a concert tent at Theatre Square in Warsaw. Attractive and unconventional form of presenting classical music, 120 concerts performed by 450 world-famous artists, an open and audience-friendly approach and excellent works of Frédéric Chopin and other great composers will make the Chopin Open Festival a remarkable event. The organizers of the unique La Folle Journée Festival want to convince the audience that classical music is approachable and accessible for everyone. During the Festival all the concert halls in both theatres will be named after the most important persons and events from the French episode of Chopin's life. There will be Fontana Hall, Delacroix Hall, George Sand Hall, Pleyel Hall, Nohant Hall and Pianopolis Hall. The concerts will last for about 45 minutes. The audience will have the possibility of listening to unlimited number of concerts and moving freely between the festival buildings, what in fact means composing their own individual programme. During the three days of Chopin Open Festival 120 concerts will take place, performed by 450 artists, among them 60 soloists, 15 conductors, 20 orchestras and bands from all over the world. |
