The artist, who has the longest list of concerts, published albums, singles and most famous hits in the world, and who probably possesses the biggest collection of sunglasses, is coming to visit Hungary. Among others he has won the following awards: Best British Male Artist Brit Award 1991, Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame – became member in 1994, 5 Grammy Awards 1986-2000, Grammy Legend Award, 2001, Kennedy Center Honor, 2004, 11 Ivor Novello Awards, 1973 - 2000.
He was the first musician from a Western country to perform in the Soviet Union in 1979. Between 1984 and 1986 he performed before more than 2 million people. 1998. On 24 February 1998 Elizabeth II created him a knight. He recorded the best selling single ever, “Candle In The Wind 1997” (more than 33million sold!). The Royal Academy of Music awarded him with an honorary doctoral title in 2002, and in 2004 he was elected as a regular member of the British Academy of Songwriters and Composers.
