At a recent travel trade show in Utrecht, Camping Bled won the prestigious Alan Rogers Campsite Award for the best Active Holidays in Europe. In the last few years they have substantially expanded their range, obtained certificates for bicyclist-friendly and hiker-friendly camp, and expanded their range of activities and events.
Alan Rogers is one of Europe’s leading camping guides, which has been published since 1968. In addition to publishing the guides, the Alan Rogers company presents awards to the best European campsites every year. Camping Bled won first prize this year in the Active category. The expert panel of inspectors, who visit more than 3000 European camps each year, praised the Bled campsite’s excellent setting for active holidays, wide range of sporting activities, biking and hiking program and wide range of water sports. The award was presented at the Travel Trade Show Benelux – Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Despite the economic crisis, Camping Bled did well in 2009, posting nearly 90 thousand overnights, which is at the same level as 2008. In the month of August alone it recorded a record 33 thousand overnights, which is a more than 15% rise over the previous year. This year according to current forecasts they will be opening during the Easter holidays.
