Warsaw Festival of Art Photography 2010
As usual, the programme consists of the contest (which enables the visitors to get acquainted with the works of young Polish and German artists) and the main programme with the accompanying events. There will be 50 exhibitions, lectures, meetings with the authors and workshops every month, taking place in prestigious galleries and cultural institutions in Warsaw. Their aim is to show the multiplicity of aspects and also complexity of modern photography in the context of these two Middle-European countries: Poland and Germany. Various attitudes, ideas, trends and conventions will be presented. The topic uniting the events, prepared by the German curators, Inga Schneider and Sebastian Hau, is the sentimentality in German photography and the difficulty in expressing emotions in pictures. Moreover, the exhibitions’ authors want to present a new, ‘human’ side of Germany and make the Polish people reject their stereotypes about the Germans. - Where
