Pácin Mansion
The Pácin Mansion was built in 1581 on a sand-hill surrounded by natural watercourses. It is one of Hungary’s most notable, late-Renaissance architectural monuments. The mansion comprises a modestly finished ground-floor, and a richly decorated first-storey. During subsequent alterations, tower-like edifices were added to each of the southern corners. The arcades and the wall surfaces were covered with elaborate, painted ornamentation. The mansion was encircled by a wall with towers, along which ran a defensive corridor fitted with embrasures. The Bodrogköz Museum is located in the Pácin Mansion, now. Pácin Mansion |
