Hess András Square No4 Building The building, and the square, were named after an Italian printer from Rome. He was the first to print a book in Hungary, in 1473 – the Buda Chronicle (Chronica Hungarorum). During the late 17th century, the house was merged with two other medieval buildings. Originally rebuilt in the Baroque in style, it was rebuilt again in the first half of the 19th century in the Classicist style - which resulted in its present appearance. The Gothic door, seat niches in the entrance, and the pointed-arched windows, all reflect its earlier medieval origin.
